Animation Survivor- The Stupid Vidfic

Day Twenty
(Just a reminder, this is just after the merger.)
[Nearing dark at the camp. Tai, Misty, Bart, Lisa, Izzy, and Stan are all around the campfire. Misty’s just beaming positive.]

Bart: We originally wanted them to move over to the sand spit.

[Laughter from the others.]

Misty: They had shelter, they had tons of food, it was really nice.

Bart: No giant bugs.

Misty: That’s the best reason!

[More laughter. Tai’s looking at Misty in that special way.]

Stan: I heard you guys gave it to Tom good.

Bart: Oh man.

Misty: We were, we were nailing Tom.

Bart: I don’t think he was ready for us to counter every damn thing he said.

Misty: Then of course, we got bored and had the food fight.

Bart: Hey, you started it!

[Tai can’t take it anymore, gets up quietly and walks away.]

[Early sunset on the beach (a bit away from the camp). Tracey is sitting alone, mired in thought. He looks to his left and sees Sora coming towards him, smiling. Tracey stands up, with a straight face, and stares back at the ocean. Sora sits down next to him, and puts her head on his shoulder.]

Sora: This is just… the best.

Tracey: What is?

Sora: The other tribe’s here, we’re all in a good mood, and we got ourselves a little island fling.

(Tracey puts an arm around her shoulder)

Tracey: (somewhat down) Right.

[Shot from behind of them.]

Sora: Beautiful sunset… almost clichéd, don’t you think?

[Sora laughs a little bit.]

Sora: Two (playing with the word) lovers, heh heh, on the beach… seems like something out of some cheap love story.

Tracey: Right.

Sora: (smiling) What’s so weird about this is that in three weeks… this will all be over. Back to normal life. We can just forget about each other, drop any signs of romance, and not have to worry about what the other person thinks.

Tracey: (negative) That was the agreement.

Sora: I suppose we can send e-mails or something. Nothing mushy, right?

Tracey: Hmm?

Blossom: (OS, kind) Sora? We need another person to support this thing! If we don’t get it right the first time, this netting may never stay up!

[Sora quickly stands up, returns Blossom’s call, and walks away. As soon as she’s out of range, Tracey stands up suddenly and begins singing to Rockapella’s "Is It In You."]
Tracey: Girl it's so easy on nights like this
to become intoxicated on temporary bliss.
Wooed by the twilit luxury of the evening air, the words we share.
But I'm thinking way beyond tonight, way beyond this view.
I can feel forever laughing in you;
Girl my life's on the line, are you in?

(Shot of Sora, working with Blossom and Bubbles on the netting. Sora is smiling, having a good time.)
Tracey: (OS) What are the odds that you could possibly feel
this kind of once-in-my-life,
this kind of change in your life’s direction?
The odds a smiling angel like you
could ever open her heart, could ever show me the love I feel?

(Back to Tracey, holding a hand to Sora)
Tracey: Are your eyes the truth--the windows, or just mirrors of my own?
Is It In You? Is It In You? Is It In You to let me know?

(Forest, just outside the camp, on the path to the spring. Tai is pacing back and forth.)
Tai: Throughout the pages of history,
lie the tales of perfect romance turned to misery.
Under the weight of a strained cliché, with its candlelight, star-filled nights.

(Tai stops and stares)
Tai: But I'm lookin’ way beyond tonight, past this purple sky.
Anyone can wish it, we can make it real,

(Closeup of Tai, with Misty, talking happily reflected through his goggles.)
Tai: Are you ready or not, let me know.

(Full shot of Misty, laughing with Bart and the others.)
Tai: (OS) What are the odds that you could possibly feel
this kind of once-in-my-life,
this kind of change in your life’s direction?
The odds a smiling angel like you
could ever open her heart, could ever show me the love I feel?

(Closeup of Misty, again very happy. Naturally, focus on the eyes.)
Tai: (OS) Are your eyes the truth--the windows, or just mirrors of my own?

(Shot of Tai, watching.)
Tai: Is It In You? Is It In You? Is It In You to let me know?

(Shot of Tracey, arms folded)
Tracey: What's stopping you from dancing; even if it's someone else?

(Shot of Tai, who is looking away, up the path.)
Tai: Ooh, don't get too many chances; we've only so many sunsets.
What are the odds, you could possibly feel…

(Shot of Tracey, walking away from Sora along the beach, head to the clouds.)
Tracey: This kind of once-in-my-life, kind of change in your life's direction!
The odds an angel like you could ever open her heart,

(Aerial shot of Tai, also looking up.)
Tai: Could ever show me the love I feel.

(Split screen of Sora and Misty smiling.)
Tracey/Tai: (OS) Are your eyes the truth--the windows, or just mirrors of my own?

(Split screen of Tracey and Tai watching them.)
Tracey: Is It In You?
Tai: Is It In You?
Tracey/Tai: Is It In You to let me know?
