This song is a little... strange. And no, it's not just because of the bagpipe march in the middle of it. There's a realm of oddities I could get into, worst of all is the last line in the chorus, which every convention of music theory says should have one extra beat at the end. But no- instead of ending on the first beat of a measure, it ends on the last. You have no idea how much that screws with the line's meter, but it's consistent each time so that's how it goes. The rhyming scheme I put into the verses is another oddity. But bolstered by the post-bagpipe chorus, it sounds pretty good.

Any Promise From You

Hey, what's with this feeling?
Can it be falling in love
Makes everyone this lonely?

Hey, is it always revealing
All of this pain we endure?
Although it's as deep as bone.

We may be all alone in the dark.
Yet it helps me to shine.
'Cause I know...

You're the one, you're the one I am in love with.
Deep in my heart, I am gazing at you.
You're the one, you're the one I have my faith in.
Even through frigid night.

Hey, acting sincerely,
People so deeply in love-
Can they still reach an ending?

Hey, even when it's seen clearly.
Can you take something so pure,
But throw it away again.

Spring will come, changes blowing around.
Winter's still up the road.
Even so...

You're the one, you're the one I am in love with.
Deep in my heart, I am gazing at you.
You're the one, you're the one I have my faith in.
Even through frigid night.

Even if I were to lose my tomorrow.
Even if I were to lose you as well.
Even then I'll never give up on smiling.
Hoping my shine remains.

Now with my tears I will call you to dry them.
I do not need any promise from you.
You have already been with me forever.
Already made me strong.

Now with my eyes I will call you to see them.
I do not need any promise from you.
Now with my eyes I will reach you forever.
Even through frigid night.
